How can we improve Poll Everywhere?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

  1. Auto-delete "True" and "False" when I start changing the multiple choice options.

Every time I create a multiple choice question, it defaults to "True" and "False" in the first two textboxes. This is great when I'm creating a True/False question. However, when I don't want True/False, it would be nice to have these options removed as soon as I click in the "True" textbox. I catch myself thinking, "I have to delete these words myself, really?" each time I create a new multiple choice question. Thanks. Or just create another option for True/False questions that is separate from Multiple Choice questions.

We’ve done away with the auto-populated True/False. We’e also added a few other small enhancements when creating polls. Mainly around the cursor ‘focus’ and improving the behavior of the tab key.

    • Insert a picture with my poll question

      Hi,

I am a math teacher. I really appreciate what Poll Everywhere has done to improve my classroom management.

I hope I can add some graphs in my poll questions (e.g.Geometry questions). I think it will be very helpful to me!

      Thank you in advance.

        • New Poll Creator adds clicks

When inserting multiple choice questions in the old poll creator, I could simply tap the tab key to move the cursor to the next answer field. Now I have to either tab three times and press space (to click on the + button) or tap tab four times (if a blank option is already there). The fact that this is more complicated, and that my action depends on whether or not an existing blank choice is present, is frustrating.

Have you tried setting up a Template Poll on your account? A template poll allows you to set all of the default settings on a single poll question and then apply those settings to all of your current AND future polls.

For example, if you set your Template to require registered participants > then all of your future poll questions will have that setting by default.

Read more about how it works here: https://www.polleverywhere.com/guide#setting_a_default_style

            • Consistent font sizes within answer choices

Currently, answer choices auto resize so each takes up same space but longer answers are in a smaller font. This is potentially a psychological influencer and can skew the results. It would be great to have a choice between same font or space per answer.

              • Full question edit when creating polls

It is frustrating to have a subset of editing options when creating a poll, so that I have to create it, then edit it to refine it. I would like to be able to do all the editing upon creation (grade response, response settings, etc).

You can set a correct answer upon creating a poll question. This is the grey checkbox just to the left of the answer choice. It’s a new feature we made just before back to school. You can read about how it works here: http://www.polleverywhere.com/blog/new-features-ranking-polls-account-poll-template-grade-responses/

Otherwise, are these response settings generally the same for all of your poll questions? If you find yourself changing the same 1-2 settings then I would recommend setting a Template Poll. With a template you can customize the default settings for all of your new polls. You can get more details here:
                  https://www.polleverywhere.com/guide#setting_a_default_style

Certainly let us know if those two things won’t cover what you need!

                • Importable Multiple Choice Questions with correct answer indicator

Import option via CSV file to ensure accuracy and retain commas in questions/answers. Columns for Group, question, answers, correct answer, sub user, and other options would be a bonus.

                        • Ability to have multiple polls active

We have used Poll Everywhere to run polls using a distributed audience in multiple countries. It would be incredibly useful to have multiple active polls going at the same time. For example, it would be great to have an open ended poll open so our global audience can ask questions, at the same having a word cloud poll to gauge the audience sentiment, and a multiple choice poll to see how they are reacting to certain topics and finally a up/down vote poll to see how they are responding to the presentation of the conference. This is a must have…

                            Hi Eric,

I understand the desire of allowing multiple poll questions to be active and displayed at one time. This was the main impetus and the biggest reason we built our recent Survey Feature. It needs a few improvements, but I think it should work for you (if I am understanding how you are using us correctly).

The basics: if you have a survey (group of multiple questions) active at the same time > you can load and display the results of each individual question in real time either from the web or from our PowerPoint integration. We’ve had people use our survey tool as digital signage to just show individual question results on a PowerPoint presentation loop throughout a presentation.

To show individual question results within a survey:
                            - click on the title of the poll question in the survey you want to display
                            - select “Present” on the…

                          • Count only the most recent answer

Currently, answering multiple times means multiple entries per person. It would be more useful to me if students could change their answers, with the most recent answer replacing the previous one(s). I'd use this when results are hidden.
It's true that I can look at their results afterward and filter out the previous answers, but the feature I'm requesting would both (1) make that a simpler process and (2) make the display of results (when shown) more accurate.

Our Change Answer feature is now available! Students may now click “Clear Responses” at the bottom of the page to change their original answer. And, if they are using text message – they may text Clear or Undo to the same number to change their response. Tell us what you think!

                            • Create an option to set "Hide Results" as the default screen

"Show Chart" is the current default when going full screen. I don't like to show all the live answers students submit because they'll usually just pick what everyone else is picking. I keep "Hide Results" displayed until all results are submitted, then switch over to "Show Chart" to discuss the results.

This is currently possible. Just toggle the Hide Results on. Next time you visit that poll question, it’ll be in the hidden results view by default.

                                    • Option to add title to poll and group questions in one poll

I would love to have option to put title on my poll and also, be able to group questions into groups when having one poll for more topics during session etc.

                                        Hi Rene,

We can do this right now! We call this “Surveys” and is a new feature we put together a few months ago. You can see some of the details on our User Guide here: https://www.polleverywhere.com/guides/presenter/getting-started#surveys

In general, it lets you group questions into a single survey, title and add a description to that survey, and you can get responses Live in the room like one of our regular polls OR send it out afterwards.

                                        Hope this helps!

                                      • A reporting option to include all participant from a participant group, regardless of a response to the poll.

What is the best way to do attendance? (i.e. a report which lists all participant from a participant group and their corresponding response to a particular poll.) The current reporting only lists participants who answered the poll leaving a cross referencing task to see who is missing.

We can do this with our new Participant feature added to our updated Reporting Suite. The step by step details for taking attendance and using Participant Groups can be found here:

                                          http://polleverywhere.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/685605

                                          Otherwise, the basics are;

                                          1. Have all of your students in Participant Groups based on class
                                          2. set your poll questions to registered participants only
                                          3. run a Gradebook report on all of the polls you are using for attendance
                                          4. To the right of the Gradebook report > select the Participants menu > and chose the participant group (class) that you want to report on. It will include all students who are in this group, but did not respond

                                        • Make entire bar draggable on ranked choice answer

Hello, I used the PollEV.com app for a ranked-choice voting question with 3 answers.

I watched about 10 people try to vote using a first-gen iPad mini device.

Many people tried to drag the questions up/down by tapping and dragging on the answer text. In every case I had to show them to tap on the handle that's on the right side of the answer.

My feedback is to make the entire bar draggable on ranked choice answers, or at least the text of the answer (in addition to the handle).
