Presenters would like to be able to accept Latex responses in open ended polls.
University users love Latex, and they would like to get the students in on the action.

Track time to submit a response
It would be great to have a feature to measure how long it takes for someone to submit a response to a poll question. We are thinking of it in the context of a clickable image poll where we would ask the participant to find something in the image and see how long it takes them to do so.
6 votesThat could be cool and an interesting piece of data for folks. I’m not sure how many people would really be interested though.
Do you think it would work if we only displayed this on the CSV (Excel) download our reports? We have limited space available on the web view and I don’t think we can fit this without sacrificing a lot.
Otherwise, the closest thing we can easily track is the amount of time that has elapsed since the poll was made active until the response was received. This won’t always be accurate because a presenter could activate/deactivate and re-activate a single poll question during a presentation but should generally be accurate.
Would that be enough for y’all?

Ability to delete individual responses
In a moderated event, it would be good if we could delete individual responses to preserve the 500 response count. In many cases, we have forums where we would like to allow participants to be anonymous and also to have the ability to input multiple responses, but it only takes one person in the group to ruin it for everyone else. Deleting all the responses is not a great option because it deletes the legitimate responses.
20 votesAh, this is a tough one. Most of our pricing is based around the maximum number of responses allowed per poll question because generally larger events have a larger budget and this helps keep things fair for our customers and keeps us in business.
If we allow plans with moderation to “delete” a response and prevent it from getting recorded as a response it allows for some bad agents to game our pricing system and get a lot of “free” responses by showing them and then “deleting” them before they reach the limit. So, it’s a tradeoff for us.
We might be able to do something like giving each presenter a maximum of 5-10 “deletes” that they can use for any given poll question. That way you can remove a few bad responses that you never want to display, but prevent gaming the system.
Do you think that would work…

Ability to change case of letters in word cloud
Not sure why there is no option to prevent the word cloud from changing everything to lower case. Could at least be a moderated option. This is a hindrance in Tech oriented settings where participants often enter acronyms into the cloud... just looks strange when you have a system names CATS and it shows up as cats...
7 votesWell, it’s tough but I definitely understand what you mean. Our dream is to have some Natural Language Processing to automatically determine a lot of these responses. It’s a tough computing problem for Google and Apple with their AIs…and us too!
We don’t want our wordclouds to be straight case sensitive because most phones will autocorrect to be autocase and you don’t want “Cats” to show up either, or just the first word of each sentence and we chose to default to lowercase because it is standard in the word cloud industry.
Some acronyms are obvious like SUV should always be capitalized, but words like “cats” could be either depending on the context.
We will tackle it in time and hopefully sooner than later. If we get a lot of interest in this over some other cool stuff we’re working on, we will definitely switch priorities. Let us know if…

Rank by numbers
Have the ability to rank poll by numbers instead of drag and drop
5 votesAre you thinking about entering allowing the participants to distribute say 10 or 100 “votes” amongst a few different answer choices as free response? Or, maybe just typing in 1st, 2nd, 3rd… instead of drag/drop?
There are a lot of different ways to do a ranking poll. We have a few ideas for how to implement each type, so it’d be great to get an idea of what you are interested in.
Thanks for the feedback!

Support split view on iPad app
Please support split view on the iPad! 8 currently project my iPad to a classroom and use the app Perfect Browser, which has a video out mode wherein the iOS interface is hidden and only the content of the web page is shown. If PE supported split view, I could keep it on the right side of my iPad screen and see poll results without showing them to the students.
I sincerely hope the PE developers can add this!
1 voteWe will have to look into the Perfect Browser app. I haven’t heard of it before, but we can try and see how it works and if we can integrate at all.
Let us know if there’s anything else we can do for you!

Add sound to the countdown timer
Can you put in some sound options when the countdown timer gets to 00:00. I have a couple of audience members who are colorblind and several have said that hearing a bell would let them know that time was up, if they weren't looking at the screen
13 votesIs your audience generally responding by the web on their phones or are they responding by text message?
I ask because we have a longterm goal (hopefully sometime this year) to add the countdown time to the web response page on the audience’s phone and to have this timer work with screenreader and other accessibility devices. Do you think that would solve the problem?

Flush participants off a keyword
I would like the ability to force every participant off of a keyword. We use P.E. at events where we have multiple meetings (or classes if you are an educator) starting at the same time. The moderator (or teacher) tells the audience to log in to the keyword - say SessionA - at the start of the program.
We have an open ended poll open to send questions directly to the moderator. What shows up is not only "SessionA" from people who were still logged into the keyword, but also "SessionB", C, and D from people who are in another…
3 votesThat’s an interesting idea. I can certainly understand that could be useful for a multi-session event and even classes.
There are a few technical concerns and edgecases that we’d need to consider, but I’ll bring this to the team.

Presenters would like to use the PollEv Mobile app remote function with the Mac Presenter
At the moment the remote functionality of the mobile app only works with the Windows Presenter. I have seen an uptick in requests to use the Mobile app remote with the PollEv Mac presenter. Posting this to gage interest of our users.
15 votesI remember when we released the Remote Control for our Windows PollEv Presenter that we looked into getting it working with Mac and there were some complications with how PowerPoint for Mac detects some of our poll settings. If there’s interest though, we can definitely look into the problem with fresh eyes and see what we can do

LaTeX equations and AMSMATH package
LaTeX equations are truly awesome! However, most math geeks auto-include the package amsmath. More symbols. Better display. Is that possible? Right now we can use PollEverywhere for most Calculus, Linear Algebra and Diff Eq courses, but "amsmath" would mean we could use PollEV in every undergraduate math course and even most grad level courses, too.

Give participant feedback on the correctness of their answer
Would like for my students to receive a message about whether or not their response was correct for graded responses.
5 votesAll of our paid education plans come with a feature called Custom Reply Message. This can be used to send your students an automatic message after they’ve submitted their response. It won’t automatically determine if they chose the correct answer, but you can set it up like this:
“You chose choice The correct answer was A”
Do you think this would work for you?
Other than that, students can check their Response History after class to review questions they’ve responded to and that will tell them of there correctness. Just send them to polleverywhere.com/my/results
More details on custom reply messages here:

Create a timer for surveys that limits the amount of time a participant has to respond.
I have heard this idea from a couple of educators and corporate trainers. Everyone is very excited about our new survey tools, and they would like to be able to use Surveys to make timed assessments. I think this would be a serious undertaking given how surveys work currently, but it would be cool!

Hide a poll
Sometimes I try different question types with the same question. I don't want to delete them or move them out of the group, but I also don't want them to show up when I am presenting and going through the polls in order. It would be great to be able to hide or mute the poll in the group (similar to the way you can hide a slide in PowerPoint).
1 voteInteresting. Have you tried presenting Poll Everywhere from our PowerPoint integration? I ask because our PowerPoint integration does support hidden slides, so if you are presenting with PowerPoint that may be the way to go
Otherwise, we’ll definitely keep an eye out for any similar requests and see if we can’t come up with something for you! We’re just always concerned with trying to keep our application as simple and easy to use as possible, so new poll settings are always dangerous

Allow anonymous poll with no responses to be changed
It would be nice to be able to change an anonymous poll to an identified poll so long as the poll does not have any responses (e.g. it is still in creation phase).
9 votesYeah, I understand that one. I know I’ve clicked the anonymous button and then later regretted it as well. We try to put a scary pop up warning, but it still happens.
It’s difficult for us to convert a poll back because we take our anonymity very seriously. Once that warning is accepted we immediately scramble any responses to that poll and then put a lock that prevents the poll from recording the name/email of any future responses. We’re literally destroying where we would store the identifiable information for the poll and to convert back we’d have to re-create those tables which is a tricky and slow process. And, we’re hesitant to open a way for someone to hack that information.
That said, certainly if we get a lot of requests for this we will work on it. In the meantime, I just recommend being careful with the anonymous button…

Please consider adding a New Zealand texting number (0064)
Yes we can text to the Aussie number, but my students will not be able to afford the international txting fee for an 0061 number.
2 votesWe’re always on the look out for new phone numbers. If our two Australian based numbers are all causing international texting fees we’ll definitely be on the look out with our sms providers for a local number.
Unfortunately, they don’t have one just yet but we’ll be first in line when it becomes available.

Create a "MATRIX" poll
Please create a matrix poll: You ask a question, have several items for which the quesiton should be answered individually in separate rows, and then have a predefined set of possible answers, where the user is asked to respond in each row. It would be perfect if you can define, how many answers are allowed in each row. This matrix could be used for ratings (e.g. "rate these 5 presentations on scale 1 to 10" with 10 different answer options; "rate these 5 movies on a scale from "poor" - "okay" - "nice" - "great") or other questions like "how…

Integrate with the LearnUpon LMS
We use a learning management system (LMS) to track our trainings, including quizzes and results, and we would like to use the Report function on Poll Everywhere to log the results of polls (quizzes) for each individual that takes our training courses.
