Thank you for the great feedback! We totally understand the pain point here. If you head to Account settings > Activity settings, you'll find the option to set the default to showing instructions vs results.

I've shared your feedback internally and we're reviewing the option to add a confirmation message.

Another option for this functionality would be to have a bulk setting for tab status of folders/activities in the Activities tab as currently exists for lock/unlock and clear responses.

For instance, at the end of a semester to reset the activities for the next semester, we currently bulk clear the responses and unlock the tabs. This takes <30 sec/class and is very efficient. But we need to individually set activities back to the instructions slide/tab to prepare to use again across all classes which takes literal hours for classes with lots of activities. Having this functionality would be so efficient/save so much time.

This is a tough one. We’ve had a couple other folks ask for this as well. There’s a couple reasons we’ve been reluctant to make this change
    - first, we really want to make sure that the audience is able to reply. Getting that feedback is the core part of our service so we try to be more lenient in that direction vs. harder time restrictions
    - second, it’s fairly common (and easy) for presenters to accidentally skip forward a slide and then go back. And, we don’t want to

Those are the two big ones. We could add a toggle to switch whether we default to de-activate when you leave a poll slide. However, it’s a lot more complexity and a bit risky for us to maintain two different versions for how Activation works since it is such a core part of our entire workflow.

    So, it’s certainly not…

I agree that this is a really important option to have, especially for those of each teaching multiple sections of a course. While I think that the proposed suggestion is best (allowing an option for automatic deactivation), an option that would still help using existing functionality is to give an option for a much shorter time (like 5 min) in the automatic deactivation drop down. Having 3 hrs as a minimum really doesn't help when teaching multiple classes/day.

Would you typically have a second device (laptop, tablet, smartphone) on hand while you are teaching class?

You can use our Hide Results feature right now to show the instructions and answer choices, but hide the chart/results from students on the big screen. And, pair this with our mobile app or mobile website to see the results as they come in on either a secondary computer or your phone. If most of the students are getting the wrong answer > you can clear the results OR create a new question on-the-fly > and ask that right from your phone.

For details on our mobile presentation app: https://www.polleverywhere.com/guides/presenter/tips-and-tricks#polling-without-a-projector

And, for details on hiding the results with Instruction View: https://www.polleverywhere.com/guide#presenting-your-poll
