    Well said Chris. I'll also add that the response counter allows instructors to gauge the percentage of student responses before viewing/discussing them. I utilize the response counter on the instruction page to time when to show my results (instead of using a timer). I wait until I have a large percentage of responses (the majority of the class) and without the counter, I am clueless as to how many students have responded.
