QR code for participants
To join a poll, generate a QR code for participants to scan.
7 votesWe’ve had requests in the past for this feature. We think its’ a great idea, but haven’t built it in simply because a solution already exists!
There are several sites out there that can make a QR code out of a url which would allow you to copy the pollev response page and turn it into a QR Code. Here’s one you can try: http://qrcode.kaywa.com/

Make the international number for text voting as simple as the USA number
Make the international number for text voting as simple as the USA number, just four or five digits. There are 12 for Europe
7 votesThat number is called a shortcode and they’re country specific. So, it can be very expensive to support multiple country’s. We’re planning on supporting more countries in the future; however, we’ll only be able to do so as our usage expands outside of North America.
For now I’d suggest web voting as an alternative.

Create text notification
Have the ability to create a post and then "send" it to my students phone through an alert or some manner, like remind.com allows me to interact securely without giving out or receiving personal cell numbers. Avoids any false accusations of impropriety.
6 votesThanks for the input! We actually do have this this technology, but it’s not advertised on our website. This technology is actually pretty costly for us and has a lot of security and privacy concerns – which is why we currently are unable to allow it for Individual Teacher plans.
Sorry! Using web surveys could be a equivalent alternative. Check them out! http://polleverywhere.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/160748-grouping-polls-and-distributing-a-multi-poll-sur

Depend less on integrating with powerpoint - just have other options for viewing questions.
Options that work offline, that don't need to be pushed live.
5 votesWe are a web service. It’s everything we do. We integrate with PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides, and directly from most every web browser under the sun. And, unlike most of our newer competitors we allow text message responses.
But, for now you’ve got to have the web for us to work. If WiFi or internet options are rough for you we recommend using the Text Message Response Method to allow people to respond and to tether or use your mobile phone as a WiFi hotspot for your presentation.
You can read more about how to respond by text message here: https://www.polleverywhere.com/guide#keywords_the_details

schedule a meeting like in Doodle
schedule an event much like Doodle.
4 votesWell, I think it’s best that we stick at what we’re good at – live audience response. Scheduling meetings would be a bit of a switch for us and there are a lot of companies (like Doodle) who do a really great job of this already
Thanks for the idea though!

QR Codes
Instead of having students type the long PollEv.com/...... website in order to respond, automatically create a QR code that they can scan to access the poll.
4 votesWe’ve had requests in the past for this feature. We think its’ a great idea, but haven’t built it in simply because a solution already exists!
There are several sites out there that can make a QR code out of a url. Here’s one you can try: http://qrcode.kaywa.com
Just go there and use the PollEv web response page for your account as the URL. Contact Support@PollEv.com if you have any trouble!

Just started using this and noticed that you do not have under subjects anything for foreign language / world language. Would love to see new section!
4 votesI assume you are referring to our Boundless Integration where we have some pre-built polls created by Boundless. Unfortunately, this has been deprecated and our partnership with Boundless is coming to a close. They are moving in another direction and aren’t going to share their question catalog with ARS folks like us.
If you are searching for some poll ideas, I recommend checking out polleverywhere.com/polls and searching for publicly shared polls made by some of our other educators

Dual paired comparison
Dual pair comparison. Where a list of items is randomly paired and people select which one is most important. At the end the items are shown in priority order.
4 votesWell, I do not think this one is on our current roadmap. We try to keep new poll types to a relatively low number to keep quality up and bloat down.
I do recommend trying our Ranking Poll feature though! It will allow your audience to drag/drop answer choices to a particular order and submit them. There is no random pairing, but we think it’s pretty cool.
For more info on ranking polls, check out some of our blog post on it:

Filter Profane words in other languages.
I love that you filter profane words. I work with teachers and the suggestion was to filter words in other languages as well.
4 votesAhh, the profanity filter. We always have fun trying to come up with what to block, but there’s just no accounting for the creativity and many languages of students. We cannot keep up with the youth!
I always recommend using our Moderation Feature if you are concerned about this. This will allow the teacher to reject/approve any responses that are sent in before being displayed. You can read about how here: https://www.polleverywhere.com/guide#moderation

Offer consulting services to schools and instructors
I have used Poll Everywhere in my classroom and am very enthused to help other instructors learn how to take advantage of this breakthrough technology. Do you have a program for offering consulting services to schools and instructors? I would love to be part of it!
Dr. Tom Hoverman
3 votesWe do not currently have any program for offering consulting services to schools or instructors. We had a few discussions and meetings about this or other “ambassador” type programs and at least for now – we are not planning no heading in that direction.
While there is a lot of flexibility and ways to set up Poll Everywhere that would benefit from some consulting or training programs – our goal is to really be simple enough that it is not necessary for the vast majority of our customers. We should “just work” and we are always striving to live up to that standard.
We’ll definitely update this idea if we start to reconsider in the future.

selfie
allow people to send selfies to the screen
3 votesHa, you know we always like to discuss this option around the office too! I think it’d be a lot of fun to allow participants to send pictures/photos as a response.
Unfortunately, there are always going to be a certain subset of folks who will inevitably send inappropriate photos and that is just not a reputation we want to have! I can only imagine the complaints…maybe some day. But, not for a while.
Keep the suggestions coming though!

integrate with Prezi
We like to use prezi for presentations.. it would be very cool if we could easily integrate poll everywhere with prezi.
3 votesWe’d love to, and we used to. Unfortunately, Prezi decided not to support an integration. More info here: blog.polleverywhere.com/goodbye-prezi/

Allow PPT download without the instructional slides
After the first download, it is redundant to keep downloading the instructional slides that come before the poll slide(s)
3 votesAlready implemented. See ‘Advanced Powerpoint Tips’ link under the ‘download as slide’ menu when viewing a poll

add comment boxes below submissions
add a comment box below each response. For example, if I wanted my students to ask questions about a topic and submit them, other students could answer them right under the students question.

Logins and the App
The "sign in" on the app is quite irritating. It takes up a fair bit of the screen, cannot be closed or shrunk, and isn't always needed.
It would also be great, if the phone didn't log out the user when a new network is connected to, or reconnected. I use this in school, with a class set of phones. Each student always gets the same phone, so either I have them log in (and they have to keep doing that) or I'd rather not have them log in, and I can view their response history on the device.
2 votesI’m going to decline for now, but we are open for argument as always.
There’s just so many k12 and Higher-Ed educations who will have students with their own phones/devices and perhaps multiple devices that we do not want to remove the Sign In or Log In option from the app.
At request, we can remove the nagger at the bottom of the phone which prompts students to log in. Please give us an email to support@PollEverywhere.com if you’re interested. You can even ask for me (Brian) and I’ll help you out.
