ability to switch from a multiple choice poll to an open ended poll and visa versa, without having to start a new poll from scratch

Yes. Maybe from multiple choice to open ended does not need to be a feature (since open ended needs only the title/question). But from ranked to multiple choice and back should be a feature, since all the answer choices stay the same and only the activity is changing.

I definitely agree with the other comments, it would be super helpful to be able to change the type of question without having to create a new one.

Yes, I am also curious on how to do this.

Is there a way to switch a poll activity into another type of activity? Example: I created a survey poll and changed my mind...wanted to make it multiple choice.
Where is the feature to change type of poll located?

Be able to change an existing question type (e.g., it is now a rank ordering question, and I'd like to change it to multiple choice and have participants be able to place two votes)

Once a question is created it would be ideal if the poll type could be edited directly rather than having to delete the question and recreate it. I don't understand why this isn't an option currently.

Have the feature to change question type after it is created. There are instances where after asking people it makes sense to switch type. It would make it easier to edit instead of creating a new one.

When setting up a poll, it is easy to think you know what kind of questions you want to ask in the beginning and change your mind later. For example, I set up some multiple choice questions and then realized they'd be better as a numeric scale. But - before I found the correct type of question, I set them all up as 'rank order' first before I found the 'numeric scale' option. What a headache! So I had to redo all the questions over instead of just clicking on each one and editing how they were set up.
