logic
have intuitive logic - if someone answers a question a certain way, they get a different next question from someone else. or if someone selects "other" in multiple choice they can input what that means.
2 votesYeah, adding Branching Surveys or branching logic to determine the next question is very very cool. Unfortunately, it’s also pretty tough for us to do. We really try to focus on live interaction within that moment and branching surveys really goes in a different direction.
We’ve had a few ideas for something similar where depending on which answer choice in a presentation gets the most responses > a certain question comes next. But, for the time being I would just say this sort of logic is out of our current roadmap. Sorry for the bad news!

A second tier pricing
A second tiered pricing option, where someone could have increased poll responses (100-200?), but have a limit on how many surveys per year. This would service the occasional presenter (like a sub teacher or a h.s. staff @ a small church where you expect to do polls only once in a while). Right now, the price difference between K-12 teacher and the presenter is huge. A middle tier option with a limit on # of surveys per year (to control the polleverywhere's cost) would be nice. I think that would attract the middle tier presenters, who would like to have…
2 votesUnfortunatley, a one time survey costs us the same as multiple surveys in a month (just about). We explain this in more detail here: http://www.polleverywhere.com/faq#one-time
We may change pricing models in the future depending on what the data supports!

More characters for questions
too limited
2 votesThanks for using Poll Everywhere!
We’ve had to limit the number of characters that can be included in a question, because at some point there won’t be enough room to fit the question and everything else onto the poll.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but as we make advances in the technology we use for displaying our live charts, we may increase the number of characters for poll questions.

Survey Results Summary & Intro Button
When I create a survey I would like to show a summary of the results in the form of a pie chart by survey or bars. For example if I ask 5 questions with a or b responses or a - d responses it would be great to see Question 1: the group picked "A" by 60% and "B" by 40%. I like "/Intro" but can you make that a button to just enable versus typing it in every time?
2 votesWe’re unlikely to expand the survey offerings to include a results summary or /intro button. Our main focus is on live interactive “responses system” style voting as opposed to distributable web forms.

Number polls that are in a group
In the column to the left in the poll view, at the bottom where you can select previous poll or next poll, there should be a number to indicate what poll question you are on of those that have been group together.

Polls to PDF?
It would be really nice to have poll data sent to PDF. One cannot print screen if there is a lot of responses.
2 votesHi Beringia,
We currently allow you to export your results as a CSV (spreadsheet) file. You can even setup an RSS feed from a Free Text Poll.
[Check the links at the upper right from the Response History view http://www.polleverywhere.com/polls/MTcyMTAyOTY4MA/results]
We feel these options are better than a PDF format as they’re “lighter weight” and allow more freedom with editing the data.

Make compatible with Smart Notebook
Your flash files do not work correctly when they are embedded in a smart notebook presentation, teachers would rather use this over powerpoint, so can you make it compatible???
2 votesHi William,
Smart Notebook doesn’t allow you to embed any object that needs to reference the internet. For example you couldn’t insert a web page that would open within your Smart Notebook file. This is the reason our Flash files do not function. They need to be able to “talk” to our servers to populate the visuals and update with “live” results.
Currently the only solution I can see with Smart is to simply link directly to your polls. If you log out of polleverywhere.com the links will pull up each poll in the entire browser window (without your account controls).
Other than that you could ask Smart to provide this type of feature. I probably wouldn’t mention us though, as they sell their own Classroom Response Systems for use with Smart notebook!

change "i" for sessions
To say something like this...
To join this session, text "session number" to "user number".
For example...
To join this session, text 123456 to 37234.
2 votesHi Jason,
We currently say “To join this session, send a message using the keyword 123456”.
This statement is a bit ambiguous, but that’s because sending “a message” may not necessarily be a text (could be a tweet or one of several web response options).
Plus, we don’t have a “user number” rather participants will text to the number displayed. All of our users (depending on country) share the same texting number.
I’m going to mark this request as declined for now. However, you should know, you are on to something with the user number idea. We are planning to implement a system in the future that allows participants to join a user’s polls and use the user’s own keywords.
Please email steve@polleverywhere.com with additional questions!

Great idea, and we will support this in the distant future.
I’m marking this as “declined” for now because implementing uni-code symbols, icons, asian-language characters, etc. within our Flash charts would require much larger file sizes and longer load times.
However, in the future we plan on moving away from Flash based charts to HTML 5. The development team has a few other items to work on before getting to that project; however, I would imagine you’ll begin seeing HTML 5 charts sometime this year. This type of format will allow us to support symbols and such easier as well!
Thanks again for your suggestions!

Love the new goal poll, however not all goals are related to dollar amounts.

chemical structure drawing
It might be good to figure out a way students can submit chemical structure drawings as a web entry using a Java-based structure drawing program. Your interface would take the information and "beautify" it for presentation, and be able to see duplicate answers. Sapling Learning has developed a structure drawing tool for their online homework; it might be valuable to contact them and work out a collaboration. There are other possible tools that currently exist as well. Let me know if oyu wish to discuss further.

Know what question you're voting for
When you're not logged in as a registered participant and have to submit a response, you do not know what question you're voting for (the answer form is not numbered).
It would be more convenient to know where you at so you can keep track of your answers.
At the end of your votes, the submit response button should be disabled and all your answers displayed as a "synthesis"2 votes -
Allow inclusion of images on poll
It is very awkward to include images in the PPT...

Stop requiring a password to clear results
This is a wonderful program marred only by requiring a password to clear results, which turns out to be infuriating on the spot. Please, please change it to allow clearing results without a password. Most of the time the password doesn't work from PPT so it's really a mess.
2 votesLog in bug caused most of the pain around this issue and has been fixed. We will still require log in to clear results to prevent ‘unwanted’ clearing of polls.

Not have instant results as an option
For students, it would be nice to wait to show results until after all students have answered, that way students could answer the question without biased.
Thanks!
